Terry Lee Ballentine
Date of Birth: October 8, 1970 Date of Death: April 23, 2026
Terry Lee Ballentine, age 55, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, at Springfield Regional Medical Center/ICU from a sudden illness. Terry was born October 8th, 1970 in Springfield a beloved son of David and Carolyn (Cattell) Ballentine. Terry attended South High School and obtained his GED.
Terry worked various jobs over the years including Cicis’ Pizza, the City of Springfield (Waste Water Plant), and in construction, where he met numerous people who he always befriended. He also worked in Lawn Care Services, in which he took pride in maintaining lawns and landscaping, always enjoying being outdoors.
Terry enjoyed traveling and attending sporting events such as NASCAR racing, Cincinnati Red’s Baseball Games and Cincinnati Bengal’s Football Games with his siblings and family. Terry loved traveling and visiting places he had never seen. He also loved being around family and friends at special events and family dinners. Terry had a passion and love for free hand drawing. He would often sit, visualize something, and then draw it on paper. The ability to draw was inherited by his son Tyler and his grandson Alex. Terry enjoyed listening to music and looked forward to attending the Summer Arts Festival in Veterans Park each year. He was a member of The Union Club in Springfield and enjoyed attending events, when he could.
Terry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, when he was able too. He always spoke highly of each of them, no matter the circumstances. Terry often mentioned how he loved all his children and wanted to build better relationships with each of them and his grandchildren. Terry often mentioned how fast his grandchildren were growing and show pictures of them.
Terry also had a special friend in his dog “Minnie”. Terry inherited Minnie from our father and promised our father to take care of her prior to our father’s death. Minnie was almost like a child to Terry. Terry treated Minnie like a little “Princess” and even called her that, all the time. Terry loved Minnie with all his heart and it was obvious Minnie loved him. Terry definitely fulfilled his promise to our father and went above and beyond caring for her. We know our father is more than proud of Terry for his care of Minnie.
Terry is survived by his mother Carolyn S. (Cattell) Ballentine; the mother of his children Kimberly (Forshey) Ballentine; sons Tyler (Nicole) Ballentine, Aaron Ballentine, and Lance Ballentine; daughter Savanah (David) Frisch; grandchildren Alex, Nathan, Noah, Jeremiah, Danlyn, Lilly Anna, Logan, Lincoln, Layla, Laurel, Mark, and Emma; Brothers Randall Ballentine, David (Lori) Ballentine; sisters Pam Duncan and Tonya Prasertsak, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.
Terry was proceeded in death by his loving father David H. Ballentine; grandparents George and Minnie Cattell, Russell and Cora Ballentine, and Carl and Vesta Cline; grandchildren Liam Ballentine; two brothers-in-law Philip Duncan and Terry Moore; sister-in-law Maria “Fe” Ballentine and special niece Audrey “Sissy” Ballentine.
