Rick Wallen, age 50, of Indian Lake passed away Saturday April 25 in his home. Rick resided at the lake for the last 30 years. It really suited him as his favorite hobby was fishing!
He was a first class cook at Woodys Diner, enjoyed his co-workers and the customers he served. He was especially grateful to his boss Jerimiah for supporting him through all his ups and downs.
Rick is survived by his mom, Kay Dotson, sister Grace Dotson, stepbrother Ashley Dotson, stepsister Heidi Dotson, nephew Jarred (Bre) Wallen, niece Cheyenne (Alex) Wallen McNeal, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his father Bob Wallen, brother Rob Wallen, stepfather (he considered his real dad) Paul Dotson, grandparents Janet & Carrol Wheaton and Wilburn & Esther Campbell.
He will never know how truly loved and missed he will be.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, 5pm to 7pm in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
