Michael "Brooksie" Brooks

            Michael Brooks “Brooksie”, 69, of South Charleston, passed away March 23, 2024, in his son’s home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 17, 1955, in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of Lincoln “Shorty” and Edith (Wilcox) Brooks. Brooksie loved his beer and playing horseshoes. He was a kidney donor to his brother Tip and had been employed at Dole. Survivors include one son and daughter in-law; Michael Dean and Brandy Brooks, two grandchildren; Breana Nicole Brooks and Evan William Brooks, siblings; Diana Epling and Tip (Sharon) Brooks, numerous nieces and nephews, special dear friend; Karen Holt, best friends; Randy Wetherholt and Regina Timmons and his grand dogs; Charley and Rage. He was preceded in death by siblings; Bertha Hamilton, Sylvia Lewis, Jerry Brooks and Connie Colegrove and his parents. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday in the JONES-KENEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
