Kenneth "Sonny" Eugene Dingledine

Kenneth “Sonny” Eugene Dingledine, 83, of Springfield, passed away May 2, 2026, in his home. He was born January 10, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio to Kenneth and Ruth (Wolfe) Dingledine, Sr. He was retired from Navistar after working for 41 years.

Sonny had a number of hobbies he enjoyed which included golf, fishing, mowing or “grooming his grass” as he called it, gardening, and mushroom hunting. He was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan. Sonny was also a member of the Machinist Club.

He is survived by his dear wife, Tonda L. (Bradley) Dingledine, who he had spent 36 years with; his son Todd (Tracy) Dingledine and stepson Jeremy (Carol) Wood; grandchildren Ashleigh, Stephanie, Zachary, Brianna, Kaylee, Michael, Isaac, and Devin; great-grandchildren Kayleigh, Levi, Audrey, Kaylinn, and Tyra; and his dog and best buddy, Harley.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Kenneth and Ruth Dingledine; sister Nancy Jodan; his stepson Dustin Wood; grandson Nicholas; and great-grandson Calen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 11 in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
