Helen Selvage (Nichols) Griffith

      Helen Selvage Griffith, 80, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord on January 8, 2021 in Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 19, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of Richard Thomas and Margaret Lucille (Wilson) Nichols. She was a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. Helen was the Mother of David W. Selvage; Gramma to Taylor, Tylor and Cameron; Mamaw to Shelly and Brent; Mamaw Gamma to Chris and Jacob; Mamaw Helen to Caleb, Gwen and Sophia; sister to Ruth, Daisey, Donna, Don, Mary and Carla. Also surviving are her Harmony Missionary Baptist Church family and Pastor Clayton Brooks and his wife Pat on Derr Road, the Gary Nichols family from Lucasville, Ohio, her North Pointe friends, her Middle Urbana Missionary Baptist Church friends, special nieces and nephews; Jimmy Hudson, Tina Dixon, Kathy Nicewaner and Jennifer Hall and the mother of her grandchildren Michelle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years; Vencil Selvage, December 7, 1997 and he second husband; Cecil R. Griffith, March 10, 2020, siblings; Rick, John and Gary and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Clayton Brooks officiating.Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services.
