Wendell A. Mitch, 87, of Springfield, passed away November 6, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 25, 1931 in Pleasant Township, Clark County, Ohio, the son of Floyd Henry and Amanda Grace (Yoeman) Mitch. Mr. Mitch was a dedicated member of the RiverSong Church. He enjoyed playing euchre and listening to old gospel songs and bluegrass music. He had worked at IBM and the phone company and had sold real estate. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his loving wife; Cenis (Shatto) Mitch, two children; Jerry (Vicki) Mitch, Bend, Oregon and Melanie (Joseph) Weessies, Gilroy, California, three step children; Dan (Cathy) Shatto, Beverly Louden and Becky Dinnen all of Springfield, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister; Donna Jones, Springfield, one brother; Dale (Annie) Mitch, South Vienna and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Kathy Hatcher, two brothers; Floyd Mitch and Merrell “Bud” Mitch and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM Sunday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Britton officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the time of the services. Memorial contribution may be made to the RiverSong Church Youth Ministries.
