Virgil Joe Comer Obituary

Virgil Joe Comer, age 47, slipped from our arms into the arms of a God who loves him far more than we are able to imagine on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Joe was born on February 21, 1971 in Springfield, Ohio to Patricia and Joe Comer. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Comer. Joe is survived by his loving wife Tina M. Comer, beloved daughter, Tricia Comer, devoted mother, Patricia Beck, sister Luanne (Jeff) Michael, brother Daniel R. (Bonnie) Comer, sister LoriGail (Howard) Mershon, nephew Jake Mershon, and niece Jessica Shingler, four great nieces, and one great nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

It is difficult for us to comprehend he is gone. Our hearts and minds cannot quite grasp the loss of him. Each one of us has lost a different part of his identity...Husband, Daddy, Son, Brother and Uncle. It is impossible for one person to convey the sense of loss and grief felt by the entire family. Joe was many things to many people. He was loved deeply and will be missed beyond what any of us will ever be able to express.

There may be those who choose to reflect upon what Joe may NOT have been...but allow me to tell you what he was: Joe was a faithful and loving husband for 17 years. He was an attentive and loving Daddy to his cherished daughter. Joe was an avid movie fan and could give you a review of any movie upon command. Among his favorite were Superhero movies and anything Sci-Fi. He was passionate about the plot twists and story lines and loved nothing more than to bend the ear of his brother, nephew, brother in law...anyone who would listen discussing each detail at length. Joe loved to laugh and was a fan of Hawkeye from M*A*S*H. He had a special bond with his Mom who watched over and cared for him through every facet of his life. He spoke with her on a daily basis and depended on her to be there with the answer anytime he had a question.  Joe was a talented artist and gifted when it came to working with computers and programming. He was intelligent and resourceful. He loved to create and dream. Joe loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his pets. He was kind-hearted and compassionate. He was a believer in the seemingly impossible and was always hard at work on his next biggest idea. His life mattered and his absence will leave a whole in our hearts forever.

The strength it will take to be able to let him go can only come from above. We find comfort in knowing he is with our Loving Lord and will no longer be suffering with the struggles of this life. Our hearts and love go with him. Our lives will never be the same.

Private services will be held for Joe’s family. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
