Geraldine Mary Cochran, 86, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1932 in Springfield, daughter of Lonnie and Nellie (Dooley) Parks. Mrs. Cochran had been employed at Studebaker & Roark Eye Doctor and Parks Insurance Agency. She was a member of Women of the Church of God and Hillside Avenue Church of God, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, crafts, crochet, and playing the organ. Survivors include three children, Tim (Debra) Cochran of Enon, Ranell (Joe) Easterday of Springfield, and Aaron (Monica) Cochran of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Tiffany, Timothy, Jr., Thomas, David, Jr., Mellisa, Colten, Tony, Angela, Austin, Kayla, and Micah; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn (Pat) Parks; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Reuben Cochran in February 2002; son, Marcus Adrian Cochran; brother, Bob Parks; and her parents. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hillside Avenue Church of God, 2021 Hillside Ave., Springfield, with Pastor Mike Criner officiating.
