In loving memory of Barbara Joyce “Boo” Ruf (Reed), 76, who passed quietly early Saturday morning June 29th. She is survived by a large, loving family. Her husband Ronald Ruf, sons Scott (Glenna) Darst, Rick (Alysia), Dan (Lisa), and David (Melissa) Lazear, their father George Lazear, her younger sister Debbie, brother-in-law Doug, and their children Brandi, Jennifer, and Tyler, brother Kenneth Reed, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and her dear friend and caregiver of 6 years Brittany McAdams. Barbara, who went by Joyce, spent much of her early years in Jackson, Ohio on her Crabtree grandparents farm. She spent her life as a homemaker, helping raise her younger sibling Debbie, her 5 boys, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren over the years. Her home was often host to family gatherings, looked forward to by all every year. Joyce’s warm, gentle nature was felt by all who knew her. Her wonderful, zany sense of humor and love of practical jokes always had a smile on the face of those around her. She has returned to the loving embrace of those who preceded her, her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, older sister Carolyn Reed, and son Jeff Darst.
“Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.” Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with services at 7 pm. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
